Sleeping Benefits

about-usThe irony in this post is that I am writing this at 1.40am. But don’t worry I always make up my sleeping time because anybody who knows me knows I love my sleep and will make sure I get it. I am also one of those lucky people who gets away with being able to sleep anywhere and everywhere public transports, public parks, airport floors, chairs and anywhere. So the other day I was telling off my mum for not getting enough sleep. Many of us wear not sleeping much like a badge of honor as if this means I am such a hard-worker. But if you are doing this you are being stupid and not being kind to yourself and giving yourself what you need to be at your best self.

Improve Cognitive Functions

Your mind is surprisingly busy while you snooze. During sleep you can strengthen memories or “practice” skills learned while you were awake (it’s a process called consolidation).

“If you are trying to learn something, whether it’s physical or mental, you learn it to a certain point with practice,” says Dr. Rapoport, who is an associate professor at NYU Langone Medical Center. “But something happens while you sleep that makes you learn it better.”

Allow Creativity

Get a good night’s sleep before getting out the easel and paintbrushes or the pen and paper. Sleeping allows your to have the clear mind and focus to perform at your best.  In addition to consolidating memories, or making them stronger, your brain appears to reorganize and restructure them, which may result in more creativity as well.

You’ll live longer

Studies have found people who routinely sleep for fewer than six hours a night have a higher risk of dying sooner than people of a similar age who sleep for seven or eight hours a night.

Improved Decision Making

We’ve all heard of sleeping on a problem, in the hope that come morning the solution will be clear. Well scientists have found that when you do this your brain still looks for a solution, even when you’re asleep. Even if you don’t wake up with an answer, a good night’s sleep will equip your brain to assess the problem afresh. I also find that if I go to bed mad at my husband I wake up in the morning with a more realistic understanding of the situation and am able to process the situation better.

There are so many more benefits of sleeping from better skins, to performance in school, work and on the sports field. What are some of the ways you have noticed that a lack of sleep does for you? Or tell us how what benefits more sleep has done for you?

My Favorite Healthy Snacks plus GIVEAWAY!

I am an all time snacker. I can snack on things and can miss out on meals by just snacking way too much which is not a good thing. So I love snacks and have to have them around the house otherwise I may get a little crazy. Today I have collaborated a few of my favourite snacks when I am trying to be healthy. It’s not always easy because I do have the tendency to want to run to the store and buy a chocolate bar or a packet of cheetos and eat in one whole sitting.

Cheese Sticks – Love this with crackers or pretzels or just on its own.

Granola/ Muesli Bar – Whether its packed with protein or got some chocolate in it, I love granola bars. It usually always satisfies my sweet cravings as well.

Toast with Peanut Butter and Raisins – This is really good if I am feeling pretty hungry. Its like having peanut butter and jelly without all the sugar in the jelly/jam.

peanutbutter raisins

Guacamole – Yum but again with this portion control is hard I just want to eat the entire avocado and salsa with everything.

Kale Chips – This was interesting at first but got use to them. Healthy light and if you have salty cravings this can save you from demolishing potato chips. First time I made these burnt them to smithereens so make sure you follow a good tutorial.

Fruit and Peanut Butter – Bananas and Apples go very well with peanut butter. These two fruits are our staples in my household because they are the cheapest. Although they aren’t my favorite fruits dipping them in peanut butter make them more a delight. I also love dipping apples in water with essential oils when am I feeling more adventurous.

Nuts – I wish I did this more often, but my budget doesn’t always allow it.I love them but with nuts I too may get a little overboard and eat more than the recommended portion. (not just peanuts!)

Hacks for Curly Hair

Hey if you are like me and have uncontrollable curly hair that’s hard to manage this post is just for you.  I tend to wash my hair on a weekly basis, when I tell most people they are like ewww gross. But it’s actually recommended (actually the recommendation is twice a week but I think I can get away with once) I use to straighten my hair all the time especially in high school, because I use to hate my curls but I guess you get to a point when you finally just stop fighting it and embrace it and the sad thing is you tend to only realize this once your curls are pretty much gone. :(

So if you want to revive those curls and save them from utter destruction I have collected a few of my favorites from brick and mirror beauty salon post.  Here I want to you to avoid your curls looking like this polynesian footballer to shakira beautiful natural curls.

1. If it’s going to rain, don’t wash your hair! Humidity is your worst enemy when it comes to frizz. Avoid it by spritzing a combination of water and leave-in conditioner over your hair instead of washing.

2. Start from your tips when detangling. Brushing from the top down is a common cause of breakage. By starting from the tips, not only is it more gentle on your hair, but it’s a lot easier to get through badly-tangled knots!

3. Minimize brush usage. A wide-tooth comb, or even your fingers, will be a lot more gentle on your curls, meaning less breakage. This will also help you preserve your curls’ natural shape.

4. Have super dry hair? Skip shampoo and wash with conditioner. Do this once or twice a week to help repair and prevent fluffy hair. You should also be using a mask like Alterna’s Bamboo UV+ Rehab Deep Hydration Masque.

5. Comb your hair before stepping out of the shower. Make sure to do it while there’s still conditioner in your hair (be generous with your application). Waiting to comb your hair will only cause frizz. I love this one because it saves me from a sore head later on!

6. Create a cleansing conditioner with one part shampoo and three parts conditioner. Focus this mixture on your roots and allow it to sit for a few minutes before rinsing. This will allow you to wash the oilier parts of your hair without drying them out.

7. Dry with a t-shirt instead of a towel. Towel fibers will be too rough on your strands and promote frizz while a soft t-shirt will be gentle on your hair. Plus, it won’t soak up as much moisture which also helps prevent frizz.

8. Sleep on silk or satin. Doing this will help keep tangles from forming while cotton will leave hair knotted and more prone to breakage.

9. If you plan to let your hair air dry, gather it into a loose bun or ponytail on the top of your head. This will help give your curls more definition while preventing frizz. This works for me all the time, my curls looks so much better if I dry it like this.

10. Condition your hair with coconut oil before washing. This will leave them super soft when you step out of the shower.

11. Leave a little bit of conditioner in your hair. Your tips are the driest part of your hair, so they can really use the moisture!

12. Sleeping with your hair twisted in a loose bun. This will help give you more volume and  control friz and curl once you take your hair out.

13. Limp curls? Combine water with leave-in conditioner and spray it onto the ends of your hair, then style. This is excellent for days when you go without washing.

15 Nutrition Secrets you should know

When it comes to nutrition – especially sports nutrition – there is an overwhelming amount of information out there. To help you sort it out, though, here are 15 sports nutrition truths to live by. These are just simple principles that can help you make nutrition decisions designed to keep you moving toward your goals.

Eat for your sport – Different athletes have different needs, based on a variety of factors including training frequency, intensity and duration. A strength athlete, for example will require more protein and total calories than an endurance athlete – with the meals timed around their workouts for optimized muscle synthesis. Runners, though, will need more carbohydrates and fats with the ultimate goal of stabilizing blood sugar.

Know your body – There may be some foods that you simply cannot tolerate, regardless of how healthy they’re supposed to be. Or you may have read about all the benefits of eating breakfast but just can’t bring yourself to do it. Maybe the opposite is true and you keep hearing about how great Intermittent Fasting is but can’t handle skipping meals. Perhaps the whole idea of snacking through the day is totally bothersome or sounds like the best thing possible. The truth is, the best diet is a nutritionally complete eating pattern that you’ll stick to for years. Find what works for you and follow through.

Eat what you love – Along the same lines, it’s important to find healthy foods that you actually enjoy. If you force yourself to eat foods you hate or reject foods you love, you won’t enjoy your journey.

Love what you eat – No, this isn’t the same point. The truth is that there might be some foods that you have to learn to love. Have an open mind and experiment with different recipes until you find something that works for you.

Stay balanced – We touched on this earlier, but it deserves it’s own slot on the list. Don’t be overly restrictive. If you’re at a party and want some cake, have some cake. Just make sure it’s some cake, not a cake.

Drink more water – Most people simply do not drink enough water. For athletes, this could be a major problem – impacting not only your performance but also your ability to recover from your training. It should also be noted that, unless you’re training last more than 90-minutes, you probably don’t need a sports drink. If you do need a little something extra, stick to something that has no artificial additives, a low-glycemic index and plenty of electrolytes.

Post-workout snacks – When you exercise, you damage your muscles in ways that stimulate positive adaptations. But that work can only be done if your body has the necessary raw materials. Eating a well-designed snack after your workout makes sure that those nutrients are there and helps keep your blood sugar stable.

As clean as possible – Do your best to eat clean, whole foods that are devoid of any additives and that have gone through as little processing as possible. This can be a real challenge. In some situations, especially social settings, it can be nearly impossible. Don’t stress about it. One meal isn’t going to totally destroy everything you’ve built.

Don’t preach – This might seem like an odd addition to the list, but it’s important. As you work to clean up your diet, fight the urge to try to fix everyone around you. It’s one thing if they ask for your help or opinion, but people aren’t likely to respond well to unsolicited criticism.

Don’t fear fats – For a long time, fat has gotten a bad rap. For one thing, it shares its name with that enemy of so many – body fat (more correctly called adipose tissue). Here’s the thing: fat is a vital nutrient that acts as a fuel, contributes to the production of several hormones and helps your body absorb vitamins and minerals. For an athlete, these things can make a huge difference in your performance and progress.

Eat your veggies – Specifically, eat nutrient-dense vegetables like broccoli. Sure, the fiber in lettuce is great for you but it doesn’t have much to offer when it comes to protein, fats, carbohydrates or total calories.

Learn to cook – Once you have the ability to make your own food, you’re no longer at the mercy of others when it comes to your nutrition. Make a meal plan that works well with your training and dedicate some time each week to preparing your food for the days to come.

Guilt doesn’t work – Again, this is something we’ve touched on but deserves more discussion. Do not try to use guilt as a way to motivate yourself – it won’t last. You’ll just end up resenting your diet or training or both. If you slip on your diet or miss a workout, accept it and keep moving.

Pick nutrient-dense foods – Take the principle from #11 and spread it into all the food groups. Avoid things like white bread that offer very little in the way of actual nutrients and opt for denser versions like whole grain breads.

Remember your bugs – Okay… don’t freak out. There are bugs living in your gut. Lots of them. And they can have a huge impact on your health – for better or for worse. Studies have found that exposure to artificial sweeteners and emulsifiers can change these microorganisms in a way that can lead to diabetes, obesity, heart disease and a host of other problems. On the other hand, when they’re happy and healthy, your bugs can support your immune system, speed up your metabolism and even improve your mood. So take care of the little guys by regularly eating pro- and prebiotics.

Frizzy Hair Problems

My husband asks me one day why don’t I ever brush my hair. So I answered his question by taking this picture. This is why curly hair girls do not brush their hair!!!!!! So that ruined my husband’s daydream of ever running his fingers through my hair!!! Sorry!!! You either get full of sexy volume luscious curls that your fingers will get stuck in or flat straight hair you can run your fingers through right…  For many of you with the curly hair condition, its something that we just got to embrace. For years I have just straightened and straightened the life out of my hair, but lately I’ve been trying to just keep it natural. I am still trying to figure out what’s the best way to look after my curls  so I have done some research of some natural ways to do better justice for my curls.

frizzyhair1. DON’T COMB!! I think this is obvious don’t brush your hair while dry! This is the number one rule otherwise you are going to look tragic like the picture above!!!! Brushing it messes up your hair cuticle and stretches the hair causing breakage!!! Just dry your hair with a towel and while its wet finger comb it or brush it then. Then stick in some conditioner or anti frizz stuff

2. Take it easy with Straighteners. When I was younger my hair was super dooper curly all natural but as soon as I got into my preteens and I realized straighteners were out there I went crazy… so those natural girls have slowly gone away and left me with a crazy wonky curls. So it’s nice every now and then to give the straightener a break and let your hair breath ladies!!

3. Tame with a touch of conditioner. For a quick fix conditioners are a great way to keep your hair hydrated. Applying some to the tips always helps them from drying and breaking easily. If you also look for protein-infused conditioners that will also help you manage frizz and create shine!

4. Overnight Natural Oils treatment: For more permanent healthy hair there are awesome natural oils that can help your hair regain its youthfulness. Organic Coconut , olive oil and even argan oil used as overnight treatment at least once every 2 weeks will do wonders for your hair. Argan oil has wonderful benefits for hydrating skin and hair as it contains loads of vitamin E and antioxidants to ensure healthy, soft and shiny hair.

5 ways to naturally diminish Stretch Marks

***Sponsored by White Lotus***

It’s a fact of life that most women going through pregnancy gets the dreaded stretch marks during pregnancy. I seriously freaked out when I saw my first stretch mark when I was pregnant. But then I got over it and knew it was inevitable, my mum had them so I knew my fate was already determined. But for sure they are unpleasant to the eyes but now I am use to them and wear them with pride. They are my reminders of the sacrifice I am making and have made.

But no doubt there are still many of you who would prefer it gone or rather hidden and discrete.  There are many products out there obviously some better than others. There is no one magic remedy everybody has their own preference and we all have different types of skin so experiment and see what works best for you.

  1. Sugar– not good in the body but out of the body it’s perfect to exfoliate. Exfoliating gets rid of dead skin cells leaving it refreshed and clean.
  2. Coconut Oil/ Cream or lotion– I used this during my pregnancy but I still got stretch marks but some people swear by it. I know I wasn’t as consistent as I should have been maybe that’s why, but may have reduced the amount I would have gotten if I didn’t use them. So who knows? You can’t really measure the benefit because it’s different from one person to the next. But there is no harm in giving it a go right…
  3. Essential Oils– Lavender, Frankincense and either coconut, olive or sesame oil to mix with the strong essential oils. Frankincense is extremely good for the skin.. It is also a natural toner, decreasing the appearance of pores and evening skin-tone. It also helps protect existing cells and encourage new cell growth. For this reason, it helps reduce wrinkles, tighten skin, and reduce the appearance of scars.
  4. Egg Whites, Lemon Juice, Aloe Vera Plant, Potato Juice –  I mean if you get desperate you will give anything a go right… all of these have some awesome vitamins and minerals that help the skin so you can’t go wrong with any of these.
  5. Micro Skin Needling– Also known as derma rolling. This sounds pretty scary but it’s not really it’s an ancient practice that is based on the same principles as acupuncture. I personally haven’t tried this myself but it looks rather interesting. It pretty much pierces the skin so healthier newer cells can replace them. To learn more of these products take a look at the White Lotus website. They also have many products to help with anti-aging treatments based all based on alternative medicine.

What are some thing you have tried to get rid of your stretch marks? Share your tips and tricks we would love to hear. :)

4 Easy Muscle Building Exercises

My new fitness goals have moved from just losing weight to focusing on building muscle. We all should know that building muscle helps burn fat more quickly right??? If not now you do…. So my question is why do I spend more time on the treadmill rather than focusing on exercises that help me get stronger???And why do I get so caught up in the watching the scales instead watching our body transform. So as of late I have been trying different exercises to focus on building muscle. I am still a beginner at all this muscle toning workouts but I came across  and they have collected a few of my favorite moves. So thought I would share my favorite muscle-building workouts…

With each exercise there are so many variations; as you feel you master one particular one change it up to a more difficult variation. E.g. starting with squats then day 5 changing it to squat jacks.  I also would recommend doing 10-15 reps of each exercise and repeating the circuit 3-4 times.

1. Squats:  Sumo squats, pistol squats, jumping squat, pulse squats etc 10-15 reps each

  • Stand with feet wider than shoulder width, toes splayed 30 degrees, your chest up and butt back. Weight should be on your heels, not your toes.
  • Squat by pushing your butt backward, not by bending your knees forward.
  • Knees should track directly over the feet, never caving inward or outward.
  • Bring your thighs parallel to the floor while keeping your weight on your heels and your spine straight and solid.

2. Lunges: walking lunge, side lunge, curtsy lunge, 10-15 each leg

  • Plant your lead foot far enough forward that, as you lower into each lunge, your shin bone remains nearly perpendicular to the floor and the kneecap never extends over your foot.
  • Do not rock back and forth with your upper body. Instead, remain perfectly upright with good posture, using abdominal muscles to keep your spine neutral.

3. Push Ups: knees, standard, shoulder tap, leg raise, elbows etc 10-15 reps

  • Start in a plank position, holding the spine neutral, no sagging.
  • Stabilize the shoulder joints by pulling shoulder blades down toward your heels (this is fundamental to all push-and-pull exercises).
  • Place hands so that when you drop, your nipples line up with the base of your palms. Lower until your chest touches the ground.

4. Planks: standard, knee plank,  side plank, reverse plank etc Start 30 seconds and build from there

  • Start laying flat on the floor lift up onto your hands and toes and full extension of arms
  • Your body is parallel to the floor Holding your spine neutral and no sagging or butt in the air
  • Hold for 30 seconds and rest

Don’t forget stretches before and after! Have fun building muscle and losing fat at the same time!!! Check out for more fun exercises and other lifestyle tips you won’t want to miss on!

Vegan Smoothie Recipe (soy gluten and sugar free)

Story Time:  So growing up in a strict Christian home I never tasted a drop of alcohol. But I loved dancing and going to dance parties and finding whatever opportunities I got to dance and be stupid and crazy. Many times that meant me on the dance floor by myself before the party had even started. Usually I would always get smirks and stares by the “wall warmers”, they generally thought I was drunk or on some drugs but my friends assured them that, that was my normal and she’s just naturally “high.”  I am not as much of that crazy person anymore (sometimes) but one idea I really do love is serving healthy organic non-alcoholic smoothies at parties. Who says you can’t have just as much fun without alcohol…. Imagine a world without hangovers!!! Bionic Body Bliss have come up with some awesome smoothie recipes to keep you on top of your game and have gone to great lengths to create a Vegan , no soy, gluten and sugar berry mix for all lifestyles. They also have a community where they endeavor to live a vegan, all organic whole foods to help you keep your body at its best.

Funky Giraffe Bandana Bib Review and GIVEAWAY!

***Product Review and GIVEAWAY!!!****

unnamed (1)

Today I am excited to be doing a review on Funky Giraffe baby bibs. These are the cutest most darling bibs on the market. I am not a crazy fan of baby prints but I love the more classic prints. Hence why I choose more the polka dot and stripe prints. They are also useful because they are gender neutral for kids down the road. The mustache print was for just incase we had a boy next.. jokes. Anyways the photo above are the bibs that I ordered. I ordered all of them in the small size and only one in the extra-large.

I have been doing baby led weaning with Miss A, which if you know is  messy eating bonanza. And if you have seen me feeding her you know I rarely if ever use a bib just because I don’t have very many and I am kind of lazy so when you have a screaming baby wanting food I just give her the food not really thinking about her clothes until after the fact of the matter. Which results in a nasty laundry pile waiting for me!!! Yikes… So you can imagine how super excited and relieved I was when  I was able to get my hands on these bibs!!!!! I could just leave them on and not worry about finding it when it came time for eating.

When placing my order, I found their website is super easy to navigate and straightforward to use. I got an email saying they received my order and another email saying my order was despatched which was perfect for me because I like to track my packages, so I know when to expect them. It arrived on time and the order was correct all the bibs were in perfect condition. No fuss or hassle!

The bibs are made of cotton on the front and polyester on the back. I love cotton seeing it’s so breathable. She isn’t drooling a tonne so I am not 100% sure on absorbency. But I am now prepared for when she starts teething we will have some bibs ready for her :) With the food she did eat nothing went through to her clothes and she used the bib the entire day. With the floral print when she got some food stains on it which was fine because it blended well with the floral haha I also love that there are adjustable clips on the back but I am guttered that I didn’t order them in the bigger size because I now have to clip them on the second clip.  So rookie mistake for me for not checking the sizing before I ordered, I just ordered what looked cute.

The only downside to this bib is that because she is self feeding she always ends up with food on her lap. But I guess you can’t have the best of both worlds all the time right… And personally I would probably buy some more practicable bibs for using around the home and will be saving these cute bibs when we are going out and about. But who says you can’t use them anywhere right…

  • Style: 10/10
  • Quality:10/10
  • Functionality: 7/10

GIVEAWAY TIME!!! To win a set of 10 bibs….head over to Funky Giraffe website and tell us which are your favourite bibs. In the comments below type which one is your favourite bib for one entry. You can win for yourself or give it as a gift! (For websites in the US or UK.)

Tips for Whitening your Teeth

***Featured Guest Post***

We all want to achieve that bright smile that we see in movies and magazines. Unfortunately, the pearly whites that we see in the media are results of expensive dental treatments and years of oral care. For ordinary people who do not have enough money, achieving the whitest teeth possible through teeth whitening at home will result from hard work, commitment, and discipline.

Fortunately, achieving the bright smile that you have been dreaming of need not be expensive. As a matter of fact, there are different things that you can do in order to whiten your teeth and brighten your smile right in the comfort of your home. The key lies in finding the right natural remedies and dental tools that you can use in order to minimize and eradicate tooth stains. You will also need to get rid of certain lifestyle routines that cause your teeth to get stained and instead take up different habits that will help you ensure your teeth and mouth are clean every day. With these key practices in place, you will achieve amazing results from your efforts to do teeth whitening at home.

Key Lifestyle Changes for Teeth Whitening at Home

First off, you should make sure that you brush your teeth properly and regularly. There will be times when you would be tempted to skip your dental routine, but it is imperative that you resist this temptation and go ahead with brushing, flossing, and proper rinsing. Brush your teeth gently to avoid discoloration and tooth decay. Do not forget to remove food particles that are stuck between your teeth by using waxed floss. Finally, rinse your mouth using one full glass of water to ensure that all sugars and acids are removed.

Next, make sure that you avoid leaving your mouth feeling dry and dehydrated. To ensure proper dental health and for your efforts for teeth whitening at home to take full effect, you need to have an ample amount of saliva inside your mouth every time. Saliva is your mouth’s natural defense. It limits the growth of bad bacteria and reduces the level of acid inside your mouth. So whenever you feel that your mouth is starting to feel dry, chew gum to avoid dehydration and to ensure ample saliva supply.

If you are a smoker, then yellow and stained teeth should come as no surprise for you. The tar and nicotine that you get from smoking cigarettes will do nothing in helping you achieve whiter teeth. Smoking will stain your teeth and, in the worst case scenario, will weaken your immune system and cause tooth loss. If you want to start your way towards achieving whiter teeth, then you should quit smoking altogether.

There are also different foods and drinks that cause teeth stain. Coffee and carbonated soda, for example, cause yellow teeth and cavities. If you are thinking of starting to try teeth whitening at home, then you should limit your intake of these beverages. If you cannot avoid drinking them, then you should at least make sure that you rinse your mouth with water immediately afterwards.

Eating the right food will help you to whiten your teeth

If you are aiming to whiten your teeth at home, you have to make sure that you practice a certain level of restraint when it comes to choosing the foods that you will place inside your mouth. Here are some foods that you should eat in order to enjoy better results and whiter teeth. Overhaul your diet and get as much of these foods on your plate.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away and it also helps in whitening your teeth as well! The mere act of biting and chewing an apple is enough to give your teeth the scrubbing that it needs in order to become whiter and cleaner. Apples also contain a high level of malic acid, which stimulates saliva production and helps remove teeth stain.

In the process of trying out teeth whitening at home, most people often think that they should completely do away with sweets, including sweet fruits. This is not necessarily true because raisins, despite being sweet, can actually help you whiten your teeth. Eating raisins promotes production of saliva and also causes your mouth to produce an enzyme that neutralizes acids and limits the spread of bacteria.

Strawberries are rich in antioxidants that promote clearer skin and cleaner teeth! This kind of food is rich in ellagitannins which is a kind of antioxidant that limits the production of bacteria that cause stains. It also contains a high level of vitamin C, which helps in promoting healthier gums and in limiting the occurrence of periodontal diseases.

Natural Ways for Teeth Whitening at Home

Teeth whitening need not be an expensive process involving high-end procedures and never-ending dentist visits. Believe it or not, there are different natural remedies that you can use in order to whiten your teeth and make your mouth healthier at the same time. The materials that you will find are already most likely present in your very own kitchen! If not, you can simply make a quick visit to your local grocery store. Here are some natural tricks that you may use to achieve a brighter smile in the comfort of your own home.

One of the simplest yet most effective natural ingredients that you can use in order to whiten your teeth at home is coconut oil. Simply apply a layer of coconut oil on all the surfaces of your teeth right after brushing them. You can also choose to swish one spoonful of coconut oil inside your mouth for around ten minutes. Once done, simply rinse your mouth with water. This method of teeth whitening at home is simple and safe, and finding coconut oil for this purpose can be pretty simple too.

For smokers who want to have whiter teeth and brighter smiles, apple cider vinegar can also help. Put an ample amount of apple cider vinegar on your toothbrush and gently scrub the surface of your teeth. After rinsing with water, you may brush your teeth using your regular toothpaste. You will need to consistently do this routine for at least a month in order to see results from this method of teeth whitening at home. Worry not because your efforts will surely pay off. Those who have tried this method before claim that using apple cider vinegar provides results similar to those of professional teeth cleaning.

Some people swear by the power of lemon and orange peels for teeth whitening. Homemakers have been using peels for home cleaning for ages, but it turns out that these can help clean and whiten teeth, too! Start with peeling your lemon or your orange. Make sure that you keep the white part intact because it has the chemicals that you need for teeth whitening. Next, you should gently rub the white part of the lemon or orange peel against your teeth for around five minutes. Let the juice sit for another ten minutes before brushing your teeth using your regular toothpaste.

Finally, if you think that the toothpaste that you are using is not doing its job of whitening your teeth, then you should substitute it with a carefully prepared sea salt mixture. Simply mix half a tablespoon of sea salt with an ounce of water. Place the head of your toothbrush into this mixture for five minutes; afterwards, you may use it to brush your teeth. Rinse with water after brushing. The sea salt mixture will help create an alkaline environment inside your mouth and kill germs and bacteria that cause stains and discoloration.
