Welcome to my slice of the cyber realm. I’m Tracy the face behind Happy Talk.
Happy Talk is my life-long journey to uncovering my purpose, which involves constant learning, growth, family and love. This blog is how I express different ways I use Personal Development and Lifestyle Design to create my dream life.
WHY Happy Talk?
This blog started as a way to help me feel like I was contributing something to the world while being a stay at home mother. (not that being a mother isn’t enough right…) The name Happy Talk is one of my favourite songs in the broadway musical South Pacific set in the beautiful island of Hawaii. The main message of this song is of creating dreams and making them come true. This is my ultimate purpose to live a fulfilling life with purpose. Happy Talk is my medium to share the things that have helped me, the lessons I’ve learnt and that which I am constantly striving for.
I graduated from Business School majoring in Marketing and IT, with no clue what I wanted to do with it. I then went and served an LDS Church mission in Washington DC South Mission. There I rediscovered my love for serving others and helping them become their best selves. When I finished I worked as a teacher which was great but I still had the desire for something bigger. I got married to my dearest, and while having the privilege of being a stay at home mother I have had the chance to discover ways to rekindle my passion for serving others through this blog. My sweetest husband is studying and working full-time so the #struggleisreal but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Setting solid family foundations is extremely important to me. My faith in God has directed me in all I have done in my life and has led me to be where I am today and to my husband. (To get our love story scoop I posted it here.) I enjoy many things in life from entrepreneurship , DIY vintage decor and minimalistic living. Our family endeavours to live a life of “quality vs quantity…” We would love for you to join us in our journey!
